Just a note

Jittering is where a random 'error' is applied to observations, usually to break ties. This method may worry the novice because, when repeatedly applied to the same data, it gives varying results. Note: a jittered rank is only valid if the ordering is genuinely random, and every possible ordering of ties is equally likely.
