Just a note

Usually the effect of outliers is assessed by comparing the variation of your data with and without the suspect point. If a single observation affects the variability by more than 2.5 or 5 percent, it can be described as atypical. However this assessment varies according to your experimental design, so you have to compare the results of overall analysis with and without the suspect point. Relationships that are minimally affected by removing extreme observations are known as 'robust'.
