Just a note

Note that computer programmes generally calculate the proportion of population X that are less than X, P < x, whereas statistical tables give P > x

Also, because any completely normal distribution is infinite, in practice [P ≤ x] = [P < x] = 1 - [P ≤ x] = 1 - [P < x]

For finite samples, or finite populations, this may not be the case.
