Just a note

Note that we have to use a log (y+1) transformation, because there are several zeros in the data. This is undesirable and can bias the result - but if we wish to use parametric ANOVA to analyze these data, we have no other option.

The number of tied observations means that non-parametric ANOVA is scarcely any better - so we might do better to consider a randomization test or a generalized linear model. For the time being though, we will continue with the parametric ANOVA.
